My horse anatomy and leg placement still leave a lot to be desired (and I'm learning) but that horse's head was a b*tch to do. Also David looks like he's sprinting (cause he is). That's cheating, Dave!!! That's Rupert (Roop for short) who although he's working in the Appalachian area, he still dresses like he's back in Missouri. He's got a bone to pick with David anyway: the centaur kicked and killed his favorite hound dog in self-defense (and his family was in danger). So Roop's the main villain in the story. But he doesn't like being shown up when said "Pest" flies by his Florida Cracker Horse, winning the race handily. (Some Taurians look for any excuse to run, and race....)
David, Rupert "Roop" Maxwell are characters from "The Centaur" belong to Me. You can't copyright names.
Thanks! The horse's head is a little small to my taste (kept redrawing it) but Roop's horse Strider is a Florida Cracker Horse which is a small but very sturdy (and fast) breed. David being in the foreground a little makes him look that much smaller too (Dave's 16 hh. and Strider's 13.5 hh)
Glad you liked it enough to fave it!

Thanks. David kinda came outta nowhere, that's why Roop looks surprised. Not that this critter is breezing by his horse, but I think that rankled him when he stopped to think about that...

Yeah, I try to have a style all my own. It ain't that great but if I have fun with it...WTF cares? Thanks for the comments. Yeah 16 hh is a little tall. But that's about how tall the centaurs are in the narnia movie. Note how Peter is equal in height to Oreius only when mounted on the Unicorn, which looks to be 15 hh tall at the withers. Most of the Taurs appear to be about 14-15.5 hh tall.
David is not a domestic Taurian, so he's pretty tall. My world, my rules.
With some of my artwork and stories, you need to suspend your disbelief. That would explain Royce.

The expressions are all good, and the end result for the horse's head is top notch.

And of course I like it. I don't see this style of art much anymore.

I remember reading Narnia as a kid and liking it but I never got into it too much.
